"This is actually aromatically similar to the Tessons with the particularity of being a bit more floral in character. There is a really lovely texture to the medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and plenty of mid-palate stuffing. The natural class of a fine Puligny is in evidence on the saline and lightly mineral-inflected finish that delivers very fine length. Lovely stuff that should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring."

"Fichet's Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Referts is wonderfully finessed and focused, yet also has a fabulous sense of mid-palate pliancy. White and yellow stone fruits, mint, slate and a hint of spice all come together in a gorgeous wine loaded with class. The seamless, textured finish is particularly of note. The 2011 is likely to be an early drinking wine, but it is beautiful."
