Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (93 points):
"Intense black cherry and iodine aromas, controlled and focused, allowing the terroir to show through. There is great purity here. The palate is beautifully balanced with supple ripe tannin, very well judged acidity, notes of kirsch, blood oranges and a hint of licorice all vying for attention. Yet, it retains the elegance and poise you expect from such a propitious terroir, and the silkiness is irresistible. Superb."
Galloni (93 points):
"Bright purple. Heady, oak-spiced blackberry liqueur, cherry-vanilla and mocha scents, along with slowly emerging hints of licorice and candied violet. Juicy, alluringly sweet cherry pie, vanilla and dark berry preserve flavors unfold steadily on the back half. Finishes sweet, sappy and extremely long, displaying repeating florality and smooth tannins that build stealthily. While there's a good whack of oak here, there's also impressive depth of fruit; just give it some time to get cozy with the lumber."
