Decanter (92 points):
"This young-vine cuvée is fermented then aged in stainless steel for seven months. In 2017 it has a gorgeous, open, electric black pepper scent - it's addictive. The palate is mediumbodied but packed full of concentrated fruit. Powerful but with no heaviness, it sings, while quite piercing acidity helps give a sense of balance. A really juicy, lip-smacking, mouthwateringly fresh style."

"The 2017 Crozes Hermitage Friandise was brought up in concrete and offers a complex perfume of black cherries, incense, violets, and exotic spice notes. This medium-bodied, supple, elegant Syrah has a great, seamless texture, moderate mid-palate depth, and beautiful purity. Drink it any time over the coming 5-7 years."
