Burgundy Report "Super"

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (90-92 points):
"The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, which contains 50% whole-bunch fruit was the last to finish its malolactic fermentation during September, matured in 50% new oak. It appears to possess more richness on the nose than the regular Gevrey Village with small black cherries intermingling with blueberry and sea-spray scents. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. This is harmonious and focused, tightly wound, but very pure and silky smooth on the finish. Very fine, but it will need 5 or 6 years to reach its plateau of maturity."

Burgundy Report:
"Padded and almost truffled – but no reduction. Concentrated in the mouth and with super flavour – lots of material here and a faint tannin. Super."

Burghound (89-92 points):
"Here the nose is compositionally similar to that of the straight Gevrey cuvée though here the fruit is both dense and evidences a marked floral character. There is excellent concentration and power to the velvety and lush flavors that exude a lovely minerality on the wonderfully long, complex and well-balanced finale. As it almost always does this delivers terrific quality for its level. Recommended."
