Armand Heitz: "This Vin de France cuvée reflects the identity of Chardonnay with our philosophy as a guideline. For me, wine is about sharing, conviviality, greed, generosity, but also taste, terroir and above all nature. When I open a bottle of wine with friends, this is the experience I want to have. This is what I propose to you with this wine."

Armand's description :
"Nicolas Dutour is a close friend. He has taught future oenologists in Toulouse, worked as a consultant oenologist for 50 estates and is now technical manager of the Clos Roca estate in Nizas in the Pezenas appellation in Languedoc. With global warming, the challenges facing Nicolas in his region are the same as those that Burgundy will face in the years to come. So, to anticipate my technical choices, it seems obvious to me to talk regularly with my friend. In addition to our discussions, we make Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cuvées together. Agronomy, viticulture, growing methods, plant material, maturity, alcohol, acidity - all the parameters are reviewed. This work forms the R&D part of the estate. At the rate at which our interprofessional bodies are moving, I’d much rather be ahead of the game if I want my children to be able to make wine in Burgundy one day. This Pinot Noir cuvée is fresh, fullbodied and spicy. It’s a great way to discover the red wines I like to make."

Armand Heitz:
Saint-Romain, climatically later than the rest of the Côte-de-Beaune, is conducive to nervous and mineral wines.

Soil: located in the North of Meursault, this limestone terroir offers a white Combe Bazin (0,5 ha) with citrus and floral aromas, with a beautiful smoothness. Facing south/southwest, the plot offers later ripening grapes, a slower maturitywhich is good for the chardonnay.

"Beaune is better known for its historical heritage. The vineyards, however, offers to the enthusiasts many oenological treasures. In 2021, different climats had to be blended to produce a consistent volume of cuvée. This is the blend of Lulune and 1er Cru Montrevenot. This cuvée is bursting with freshness and deliciousness. It’s a Pinot Noir just the way I like them."

Armand Heitz: "Mercurey has 640 hectares in AOP villages and 1er Cru. Producing very great pinot noir and chardonnay. Mercurey is a flagship appellation of Cote Chalonnaise. The soils of Mercurey are marno-clay- limestone. With our hillside situation, we have a soil rich in silts and pebbles and with a lower proportion of clay. The vines were planted in 1964."

Armand Heitz skriver om denne vin: "We shouldn’t think that blending different terroirs is an oenological party. At the estate, when certain cuvées prove to be more interesting blended, we think it is appropriate to do so. Some terroirs are sometimes a little too rich and others a little too refined."

Armand Heitz: The village of Pernand, nestled at the confl uence of two combes, adopted the name of its most famous climate in 1922 to become Pernand-Vergelesses. It is the famous «Montagne de Corton» which shelters three villages: Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny.

Old vines are an increasingly rare heritage. The resilience of old vines has nothing to do with the mediocre quality of the plants sold today. This vine was planted in 1930. It will soon be a hundred years old! The quality of the grapes is incredible! In both sunny and cooler vintages, this old vine produces magnifi cent grapes with yields of between 30 and 45 hl/ha. Thank you, Mother Nature, and thank you, old-timers.

Exceptional terroir! The Corton vineyards lie between 250 and 330 metres above sea level, forming an amphitheatre unlike any other on the Côte. The only appellation in the Côte de Beaune to have Grand Cru red status.

An ultra-confidential cuvée. Because of the very small volumes harvested, I blended these grapes from Corton Grand Cru Perrières and Corton Grand Cru Bressandes. These two magnifi cent terroirs are located next to each other in the middle of the legendary Corton hill.

Armand Heitz: "Mourotte is a diminutive of Mur, where we find the Burgundian suffix «- ottes». Situated at the top of the Corton hill, the plot faces due east and benefits from a relatively cool microclimate. Soil : fine limestone soils alternating with marl, at an altitude of between 300 and 350 metres."

"Clos Vougeot is Burgundy’s essential Grand Cru. Our cuvée comes from one of the finest terroirs in this vast appellation. Le Grand Maupertui lies at the very top of the Clos. Incredible exposure and perfectly balanced soil ensure a powerful, complex wine of great elegance. The style is close to that of its neighbor Grand Echezeaux, which lies just on the other side of the wall."

Armand Heitz: "My family were owners and merchants of grands crus on the Cote de Nuit until the 1960s. It is therefore with great pride that I am able to pay tribute to my ancestors by working these vintages. The parcels of this mythical grand cru are located between Clos Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée. At the time, they belonged to the Abbey of Cîteaux. With a very hot and early vintage, I was quite worried about the style of the wines. With a nice control of the whole harvest, the wine reassures me completely. Incredibly dense, fresh and complex. This grand cru holds its own."

Le Chambertin er en mytisk vinmark - a la Montrachet - og er den vel nok mest berømte vinmark i hele Côtes de Nuits.

Denne kendet vinmark dækker 58 ha og er indelt i 21 parceller. Hetiz-Lochardet har 0,3 ha Pinot Noir plantet i 1964 fordelt på 2 parceller, Petit Clos og Tête du Clos som er beliggende lige under Romanée og Grandes Ruchottes. Den årlige produktion er på beskedne ca. 1.600 flasker.

I think of Nuits-Saint-Georges as the Pommard of the Côte de Nuits. These are terroirs that produce virile wines, but when worked with finesse produce wines of great freshness and incredible length. It’s a village I really like. Nuits-Saint-Georges has been a leading town for centuries, renowned for its vineyards. It has given its name to the Côte de Nuits and stands under the banner of Saint-Georges, its most famous cru. The Les Boudots climat is located in the commune of Nuits, on the edge of Vosne-Romanée, just below Les Damodes.
