"The 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Etoile Noire is complex, with a beautiful nose of black raspberries, spring flowers, smoked game, and violets, and it has an almost Côte Rôtie-like floral character. Beautiful on the palate as well, this medium to full-bodied, pure, seamless Crozes is hard to resist today, yet I see no reason it shouldn't evolve gracefully for 10-12 years. It's a gorgeous Crozes."

Energetic and focused on the palate, offering intense, spice-laced red and dark berry liqueur, mocha and cola flavors and a smoky mineral flourish. The floral and spice notes drive a very long, subtly chewy finish that's given shape by smooth, well-judged tannins."
