"The 2024 Riesling Longuicher Maximin Herrenberg Grosses Gewächs is from own-rooted vines that were 122 years old, on a super steep parcel. Lovely creaminess, suppleness and gentle stony savor define the nose. Despite the red slate, this has less obvious herbal inflections and focuses on wet stone instead. The palate is beautifully lithe but supple and so harmonious. More time reveals both Mirabelle and lime zestiness. This is a quiet, understated wine of immense elegance. It just needs more time."
