James Suckling (93 points):
"This is dark and earthy, showing aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, sweet spices and hints of meat and tar. Medium- to full-bodied, well composed and refined, with compact, integrated tannins and a broad, seamless finish. Drink or hold."
Galloni (93 points):
"A whiff of sweet spice gives way to dusty violet florals, cloves and crushed blackberries as the 2021 Rosso A.D. 1212 comes to life in the glass. Silky-smooth, this flows across the palate with admirable weight and concentration while maintaining freshness. Masses of mineral-tinged red and black fruits slowly saturate toward the close. It finishes with staining length and structure, leaving hints of licorice and blood orange to linger on and on. The 2021 is a more imposing vintage of A.D. 1212 and should enjoy a long and steady evolution in a cold cellar."
Falstaff (93 points):
"Dark ruby red with purple reflections. Very open and complex on the nose, aromas of ripe cherries and blackberries, light herbal savouriness and black pepper as well as orange blossom. Juicy and fruity on the palate with fine tannins and a long finish."
