Jeb Dunnuck (91-94 points):
"The new name for the classic cuvée, the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Premiere Pierre is based on Grenache, Syrah, and the rest equal parts Mourvedre and Cinsault that saw 30% stems and was brought up all in wood (varying sizes but almost all neutral). It reveals a deeper ruby/purple hue to go with a great nose of ripe cherries, kirsch, peppery herbs, loamy earth, and spice. With medium to full-bodied richness, polished yet building tannins, and a great finish, it's another powerful yet elegant 2021 from this talented team."
Galloni (91-93 points):
"The 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Première Pierre was made from partially destemmed fruit. It mingles aromas of ripe raspberry, strawberry, red plum, red and black cherry, dried herbs and licorice. It is full-bodied, enveloped in plush tannins and the sapid fnish concludes with good persistence."
